Imoni-kai

We had Imori-kai on the riverside of River Hirose this lunch time.

In northeastern part of Japan, people hold a party on outdoor in autumn, especially on a riverside, cooking soup with various types of vegetables including taros and meat. Imoni means this soup and the party is called Imori-kai. We use pork for typical Imori of Miyagi prefecture, but today we had Yamagata-styled Imori with beef.
